What COVID precautions is Amplify Speech Therapy taking?

Amplify is following current recommendations for health care providers and local guidelines for delivering safe and quality therapy. The speech pathologist is vaccinated and boosted and wears a mask. All supplies are sanitized between clients. In-person therapy is conducted outdoors when possible (see section on home visits below). Because of the nature of speech therapy, it is sometimes helpful to lower a mask to demonstrate a speech or swallow technique but this is done only with the client's consent. Amplify takes every measure to balance the client's comfort with delivering high quality care.

What exactly is teletherapy for speech?

Simple answer: There is No Wait List!

Amplify opened part-time in January and has been steadily growing. Because it is new and in transition, there is no wait to start your therapy goals with Amplify!

Nor do we consider it best practice to ask clients to wait for months to get help. If we can't schedule you within a couple of weeks, we'll refer you out to someone just as qualified. 

Life is too short not to have your voice heard.

Also called remote therapy, virtual therapy, and telehealth by Medicare, teletherapy is therapy provided by secure video conference calls. Studies have shown it to be just as effective as traditional, in-person therapy for most conditions. Online speech therapy has existed for decades but has become more prevalent and widely accepted after the pandemic. I'm getting by. Why do I need speech therapy? 

There are several factors to consider and the Speech Pathologist can help by asking the right questions. Often times the diagnosis will determine the best delivery method. In some cases, it is ideal to start with an in-person evaluation then continue speech therapy sessions remotely. Plus, home based therapy is more personalized because it incorporates your home situation and loved ones to  ensure your communication, cognitive or swallowing goals are meaningful from the start.
